Description & History

The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. We address the most pressing conservation threats at the largest scale.

In April 2014, The Nature Conservancy launched Connect with Nature, a volunteer initiative aimed at celebrating Earth Day and engaging communities, companies and individuals in nature-related activities year round. Through Connect With Nature, we inspire and mobilize people to get outdoors, get involved in their own backyards, and develop a personal commitment to help protect and preserve the natural world. We work in all 50 states and more than 35 difference countries around the world, encouraging our supporters to:

Explore: Get outside and experience the waters, trails and landscapes that make up nature’s playground.

Volunteer: Roll up your sleeves. Our hands-on projects vary by city, but all of them provide a unique opportunity that’s educational and impactful. We link consumers, community supporters and employee volunteers with existing volunteer engagement opportunities that impact conservation.
