Academic Coach / Youth TutorAcademic Coaches work one-on-one or in small groups (3-4 students) of boys and girls in the SBU Academy to provide homework help and support the youth in reaching their grade levels in math and the English language arts.
After-school Soccer CoachSouth Bronx United is seeking coaches that not only want to share the joy of playing the sport but also want to reinforce the values that sport helps develop (teamwork, discipline, respect, etc) for its after-school soccer program.
College Prep InternshipSouth Bronx United College Prep Interns work closely with SBU educational staff in coordinating and supervising the SBU College Prep Program. The program provides academic support and mentorship for approximately 60 students in grades 10-12.
College Prep MentorCollege Prep Mentors are matched with a group of high school students as they prepare for Regents exam graduation requirements and proceed through the college application process.
College Prep TutorTutors for Sophomores and Juniors follow a set curriculum developed by SBU in teaching weekly lessons in either math or English, while also helping students with school homework and Regents exam preparation.
Education InternshipSouth Bronx United Education Interns work closely with SBU educational staff in coordinating and supervising the SBU After School Tutoring Program. The program provides homework help and academic enrichment activities for approximately 80 youth ages 10-15.
English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) TutorESOL Tutors work with small groups (2-4 students) of students in the South Bronx United Youth Development Program that are currently designated as English Language Learners (ELL) to provide homework help and weekly English lessons.
Immigration Legal ServicesPro bono attorneys and other volunteers are sought to assist SBU families with immigration-related legal matters. South Bronx United is recognized by the Office of Legal Access Programs (OLAP) at the Department of Justice (DOJ)
Recreational Soccer CoachRec League Coaches work with one team of girls and/or boys within the SBU Recreational Soccer League during Fall and/or Spring Seasons. Coaches run short practices and manage games for youth that compete against the other teams within the SBU league, which consists of 9 age groups and 62 teams.
Social Work InternshipSouth Bronx United Social Work Interns work closely with SBU’s Youth Development Counselor in providing support for the SBU Academic Programs.
