This summer and fall, the Office of the Mayor and the City University of New York will be conducting a 3-day pilot study in the neighborhoods of Sunnyside, Woodside and Jackson Heights to better understand how residents engage with their local communities and determine how the city can best support organizations dedicated to volunteerism and community engagement.

We are currently recruiting more than 600 volunteers who will spend a day canvassing in one of these neighborhoods, administering surveys, and speaking with residents to locate areas where the city can more effectively leverage programming, tools and resources to support civic engagement and neighborhood empowerment.

In order to achieve these goals, we are asking for your help. The work of canvassers will play an instrumental role in the success of this initiative, so we are looking for energetic volunteers of all ages to come out this summer.
