NYC YOUTH MENTORING STRATEGIC PLAN
Vision
Working with a City agency planning team and the NYC Mentoring Coalition, NYC Youth Mentoring will be available to and encouraged for every young person in New York City as a proven and positive youth development strategy, which contributes to positive decision-making, education achievements, successful career/college options and life pathways.
Overarching Goal
The overarching goal of NYC Youth Mentoring Strategic Plan is to reach 40,000 High School students with mentoring experience annually by 2022, supporting the city's Equity and Excellence plan to achieve 80% high school graduation and 2/3 college-ready rate by 2026. The initiative seeks to double the high schools and mentees involved by 2022, reaching 40,000 high school students in 400 high schools (36,000 of which are in City-sponsored programs).
