Be In-Kind

Be In-Kind consists of three donation-focused initiatives that engage partners to provide in-kind resources to city agencies that serve low-income and/or poverty-affected clients. Be In-Kind inspires and empowers companies to give back by “being kind.”

We’re seeking new corporate partners for all our 2018 initiatives. Interested companies can contact beinkind@cityhall.nyc.gov.

Ways to give back

Project Move-In-Day recruits corporate partners to pack and donate essential home-supplies for college-bound students who are part of the Department of Homeless Services’ Future Leaders Scholars Program. Students in this program, all graduating seniors, are  transitioning into campus/off-campus housing. Through a partnership between NYC Service and DHS, NYC Service and it’s corporate partners provide Project Move-In kits - which are presented during the Future Leaders Scholars Recognition Ceremony at the end of the school year.

Secret Snowflake is the Mayor’s Office annual holiday gift-giving initiative that mobilizes mayoral and private sector employees to answer letters from children in-need and provide crucial necessities, such as clothing, shoes, and coats for the winter.

Care Kits is an initiative that engages employees to collect and package items into kits given to New York City's vulnerable populations. These kits will include the essentials such as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc., to offer individuals in challenging circumstances basic necessities in a reusable bag.

NYC Service can work with you at any point identify an organization to donate to and organize a Care Kits drive and packing session. We ask for 4-6 week notice to ensure that we can be available at your event and provide you with the appropriate support.
