Support the Newest New Yorkers

During the last several months, New York City has welcomed tens of thousands of people seeking asylum. Meeting the needs of the newest New Yorkers requires a citywide support system.

We are coordinating the need for volunteer efforts with cIty agency and community partners. For individuals interested in supporting people seeking asylum, register and select yes to support people seeking asylum for more updates on how you can help.

Skilled Volunteers - Legal Support

Migrants typically have one year to apply for asylum. With tens of thousands of asylum seekers in the City’s care, the NYC Asylum Application Help Center helps people complete necessary forms before this critical deadline. This effort relies on professionals who commit their time to receiving training and working full-day shifts (9-5) at the Center’s location in midtown Manhattan. If you are an immigration attorney, attorney, para legal or interested in providing administrative or translation support then we encourage you to sign up for this unpaid volunteer opportunity. Bi-lingual is a plus but not mandatory to volunteer.
