Our host site partners play a critical role in addressing NYC's most pressing needs -- all while developing the next generation of civic leaders.

What Do NYC Civic Corps Members Do?
Hosting an AmeriCorps member can help your organization develop new initiatives, reach new communities, and gain fresh perspectives to achieve your agency's most ambitious goals.
By placing full-time support directly with nonprofits and city agencies, in just 10-months, an NYC Civic Corps member can increase impact in three areas:
- Community Outreach & Engagement
- Program Development
- Volunteer Management & Recruitment
NYC Civic Corps members serve at their host sites full-time (~35 hours per week) 10-month terms, from September 2026 through June 2027 pending federal funding.
Is Your Agency Eligible?
To be eligible, host sites must:
- Be an NYC City agency or 501(c)3 nonprofit organization
- Designate a full-time staff member to supervise and support the member on-site
- Supervisors commit to attending a full-day orientation in July/August 2026, as well as quarterly virtual training sessions throughout the program year.
- Provide space and technology access to the member
- Ensure proposed activities fall within allowed AmeriCorps guidelines
- Commit to paying a participation fee per member, dependent on organization type and budget

Host site supervisors commit to attending a full-day orientation in July/August 2025, as well as quarterly virtual training sessions throughout the program year.
NYC Service is committed to supporting partners, members, and services in all five boroughs. City Agencies and Nonprofit organizations in Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island are especially encouraged to apply.
How To Apply
- Confirm Your Eligibility & Gather Application Materials.
You'll need the following to apply:- Online Application
- Most Recent Form 990 (nonprofits only)
- EEO/Sexual Harassment Policy
- Submit Your Application.
- Complete a Supervisor Interview.
New host sites, projects, and/or supervisors are required to interview; returning sites and supervisors may be asked to interview depending on project details
- Attend a Position Description Workshop.
Approved sites will work with NYC Service staff to submit a position description outlining service term goals.
2025-2026 host sites will be notified of their acceptance in late March 2025.
AmeriCorps members will begin service in September 2025 pending federal funding.

National Service Leadership Council of New York City
The council mobilizes National Service programs from within the five boroughs to strengthen AmeriCorps programs and enhance the member experience, focusing on partnerships to increase recruitment and retention, bolster professional development opportunities, and collaborate on member engagement.
