Bring Birthday Cheer to Older New Yorkers

DOROT’s Cardmaking Program helps bring joy to DOROT elders. Each month, DOROT mails over 250 birthday cards to older adults. Sometimes, this card is the only recognition an older adult receives on his or her birthday. We also share cards during home visiting programs in the winter months. Each card is designed and created by you, our volunteers and that is what makes them special. We accept donations of birthday cards throughout the year.

We also recommend that you look at the guidelines on our website to get card design tips and information on the types of supplies you will need.

All cards should be returned to DOROT with a completed Cardmaking Project Form, on our website as well.

Please note - This is an opportunity that takes place in your own home, organization, or work place. It does not take place at DOROT's offices. However, we do occasionally offer group programs at DOROT that include the card making project. Please email volunteers@dorotusa.org or call 917-441-3726 for more information.
