Alianza Leadership Program - Now Accepting Applications
Alianza’s Leadership Program (ALP) is a 6-week paid leadership development program designed for Latinx, Afro-Latinx, and Indigenous young people ages 18-25 who are actively engaged in social justice work. The program brings together a small cohort of emerging leaders to build power, deepen leadership skills, and strengthen community through weekly virtual sessions, mentorship, and a culminating in-person gathering. Participants receive a stipend for their participation and become part of Alianza’s growing national alumni network.
Who is Eligible

Youth leader ages 18-25
-
Collaborates with, organizes, or mobilizes others, whether in a formal leadership role or as an engaged participant.

Is committed to learning and building their capacity to lead with purpose and integrity.

Has lived experience navigating systemic barriers and seeks to create solutions.
The program includes

Weekly virtual workshops (2.5 hours per session) on topics such as self-determination, leadership, power & privilege, healing while leading, and much more!

Ongoing coaching sessions

Final in-person event

Ongoing opportunities to connect with other people working for justice in NYC and around the country (via in-person events, webinars, etc.)

What to Expect

A Critical, Decolonized Perspective: Participants will learn to identify gaps in existing systems, develop a deeper understanding of structural inequities, and strategically analyze injustices in their communities.

Advocacy & Organizing Skills: In a supportive environment, participants will develop connections, strengthen their ability to mobilize communities, and gain the tools to actualize change.

Government & Policy Knowledge: Through interactive workshops and mentorship, participants will gain practical knowledge about how government systems function and how to advocate for systemic accountability.

Networking and Cohort Building: Connect with like-minded youth leaders from diverse backgrounds and organizations. Forge meaningful connections, exchange ideas, and cultivate a supportive network that will continue to inspire and empower you on your leadership journey.

Stipend Opportunity: As a participant, you will receive a scholarship of $800 to recognize your commitment and contribution to the Alianza's Leadership Program. This scholarship not only acknowledges your dedication but also serves as an investment in your ongoing leadership

The Osborne Association - Loved Ones Link
The Osborne Association will be providing free weekend transportation to select NYS prisons, helping improve access for families with loved ones incarcerated throughout the state.
Program Details:
- Launch Date: November 22, 2025
- Operating Days: Weekends only (Saturday and Sunday)
- Initial Routes (Nov–Dec 2025): Brooklyn, NY to Taconic/Bedford Hills, Sing Sing, and Fishkill
Beginning January 2026, we will continue to expand the program monthly to include additional facilities listed on the official program flyer and additional departure points around the state.

The expo features 65+ regional exhibitors sharing information, resources, and opportunities, and the option to engage in moderated online Q&A with volunteers from different industries.

The Career and Education Division (C&E Network) at Cypress Hills LDC is dedicated to expanding economic opportunities for young people and adults. We empower individuals to take the next step in their journey — whether by gaining training and credentials to secure a job, starting a business, or growing an existing one — while making a meaningful impact in their community.
Our Train and Earn program offers youth aged 18–24 with a high school diploma or equivalent the opportunity to access occupational training and professional development in two pathways: Technology and Industrial (Construction and Transportation).

The New York Public Library - Teen Center at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library
Free resources at the library, from borrowing books, to access to academic journals for any climate change support. Resource sharing is definitely a core action of sustainability and we work hard to amplify that at the flagship Teen Center.
