VOLUNTEER CENTER – PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The Stephen T. Pearlman Volunteer Center administers the volunteer recruitment, screening and interviewing, orientation, training and education, placement and referral, retention, and recognition processes for Lighthouse Guild. Our current corps of volunteers consists of 600 volunteers who contribute to the success of the organization and carry on the legacy of service of the organization’s founders.

Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Answer department phones.
- Triage the caller’s needs and provide answers.
- Escalate the calls to the appropriate party when necessary.
- Review, scan and organize volunteer electronic files.
- Manage and maintain receptionist area.
- When needed aid with the signing into and out of the Volunteer kiosk to interns/volunteers.
- Manage and distribute meal vouchers and travel reimbursements for volunteers.
- Prepare and update volunteer timekeeping records.
Qualifications:
- Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including clear diction are required.
- The ability to lead, take and follow instruction, take initiative, and apply critical thinking skills is required.
- Strong customer service orientation preferred.
- Understands and demonstrates time management skills and judgement with prioritizing task.
- The ability to exhibit excellence in the execution of your responsibilities is required.
- Flexible attitude. Able to handle and manage competing priorities.
Details of the Opportunity: The ideal candidate is available during business hours 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. We are flexible with establishing your schedule during these hours and request your presence in the office at least 4 hours per day. Please submit a resume to volunteer@lighthouseguild.org.
