Jacob A. Riis Settlement is seeking volunteers to teach ESOL classes during the summer. By providing extra language practice you will help students improve their English skills for practical use such as in social, educational, or professional settings.
Summer semester dates:
July 15 - August 30st (flexible)
Classes offered:
*Days/times can be changed/ adapted for the right candidate
Qualifications:
- Able to commit for 6-8 weeks
- Able to use Zoom (for remote opportunity)
- Be at least 18 years old
- High level of English proficiency, educational background and experience working with ESOL students preferred
What we offer:
Bilingual volunteers (Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, etc.), volunteers with teaching or tutoring experience, and volunteers with TESOL/TEFL certifications are highly preferred!
