Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County is seeking a Marketing & Communications volunteer to support the Marketing & Communications team across a wide range of graphic design, communications, and administrative functions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with skills and interest in marketing, communications and design. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, is organized and detail-oriented, and excited about the prospect of supporting increased awareness of the organization.

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementation of social media marketing plan
    • Develop social media content ideas, copywriting, and graphics
    • Plan a yearly social media calendar, incorporating relevant housing related observances
    • Perform social media marketing research
    • Brainstorm ideas to improve engagement
    • Curate catalog of evergreen content
    • Create short-form video content
    • Conduct short form interviews for social (staff, volunteers)
    • Visit construction sites to capture social media content
    • Assist with influencer campaign strategy
    • Assist with monitoring and tracking social media performance
  • Assist with cataloguing photo/video library
  • Assist with monitoring and cataloguing press mentions
  • Assist the Marketing & Communications team with administrative tasks

Skills:

  • Proficiency with social media platforms
  • Familiarity with current social trends
  • Excellent research skills
  • Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite) highly desired
  • Basic video editing skills highly desired
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent writing and communication skills

Time commitment is 10-15 hours/week.

Ability to travel to sites in NYC and/or Westchester
