By participating in this Youth Leadership Council, you will: Hear from guest speakers who work in the sustainability and waste-reduction field; advise Sanitation Foundation staff on upcoming projects, including our summer internship program; gain leadership skills and professional experience; learn how the NYC Department of Sanitation is connected to the green labor force; and explore how the Sanitation Foundation works to support a clean city and reduce waste sent to landfills. Student Projects: This summer the Sanitation Foundation is launching its first internship program for people aged 16-24. Because of the unique expertise you each have as members of the City-As-School community navigating many professional environments, we’d like you to create a project that will help support our incoming summer cohort. You will have time each session to work on your projects which should be completed at the end of our 8 weeks together. Projects should be selected based on your interest and skills you’d like to build.
