Social Resources Fair - IPUL Woodside

FUNDAVENYC, INC.

Purpose/Objective:

Fundavenyc seeks to accelerate and support asylum seekers and immigrants’ transition into thriving New York City residents. Support our newest New Yorkers by helping them receive information about education, obtain legal support, receive vision and dental screenings for their children, and distribute sneakers for the kids, among other services.

 

Location:

Queens, New York


Time Commitment:

  • This is a one-time opportunity, Saturday, February 24th, 2024. 
  • Volunteers must be available 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteers will be assigned to any of the following opportunities during the event:
    • Greet and welcome guests.
    • Assist guest event area: direct guests to different info tables. 
    • Assist guest pick-up area: distribute food and children shoes.
    • Support the staff with any necessary tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Spanish proficiency MANDATORY.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist in any necessary tasks.
  • Ability to work in a group, with a strong disposition for teamwork.
  • Ability to receive feedback.


Training/Support Provided:
