AFFORDABLE HOUSING WORKSHOP 07/12/2025

FUNDAVENYC, INC.

Purpose/Objective:


Fundavenyc seeks to accelerate and support asylum seekers and immigrants’ transition into thriving New York City residents, including low income and elderly New Yorkers in their pursuit of fair, permanent and affordable housing. We are looking for volunteers and Affordable Housing Ambassadors to help Spanish-speaking applicants navigate the NYC Housing Connect process.

Pier 57


Time Commitment:

  • This is a unique opportunity Saturday, JULY .12th, 2025
  • Volunteers must complete our virtual Affordable Housing training once, approximately 3 hours, prior to starting this opportunity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized assistance to attendees.
  • Support attendees in completing the NYC Housing Connect application.
  • Assist in various areas such as: 
    • Setting up
    • Welcoming guests and volunteers
    • Creating audiovisual content
    • Helping with event closure and cleanup
  • Support the staff with any necessary tasks.
  • Volunteers must wear the Fundavenyc Shirt or Sweater.

 

Qualifications:

  • Volunteers must have an Affordable Housing Ambassador training.
  • Spanish proficiency. 
  • Able to offer professional, amicable customer service.


Training/Support Provided:
