Job description
A Web Designer is responsible for creating the design and layout of a website or web pages. We are looking for someone ready to work on and improve Witness' existing website.
Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:
- Designing an Engaging Website: Create the visual elements, layout, and user interface of a website using design software like Adobe Creative Suite, or whatever you are proficient in.
- User Experience (UX) Focus and User Interface (UI) Development: Make sure the site is easy to navigate and that it addresses the needs of our target audience; Designing interactive elements and considering how users will interact with the website.
- Responsive Design: Ensure websites are functional and visually appealing on various devices and screen sizes.
- Graphic Design and Branding: Develop aesthetic elements such as logos, typography, and color palettes that align with the brand’s identity.
- Testing and Improvement: Regularly test websites for ease of use, speed, and other quality factors, and make necessary adjustments.
- SEO Basics: Incorporate basic search engine optimization strategies into design to boost the site's visibility.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Technical Skills Required:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is often required to ensure designs can be effectively implemented.
- Creativity and Artistic Insight: Strong visual design skills with an eye for good aesthetics.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on detailed aspects of a design to ensure high levels of usability and overall quality.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Must be able to come up with effective solutions to usability issues and design constraints.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects at once, often to tight deadlines.
