Description
We are seeking a passionate and visionary leader to help guide Imani’s Safehouse Inc. in building sustainable financial foundations for our work. This role provides leadership in fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, and long-term sustainability planning for our start-up nonprofit. You will play a key role in shaping resource development efforts, building relationships with supporters, and ensuring all fundraising aligns with our mission and core values.

Imani’s Safehouse is unique: our leadership is grounded in proximity and partnership with the women we serve. Founded in 2020 by a survivor who became a social worker, our organization is rooted in lived experience and continues to remain connected to women who are still inside. This connection is our strength and guides every aspect of our work.

About Us
Imani’s Safehouse Inc. is dedicated to breaking cycles of violence, trauma, and incarceration by centering survivor autonomy, empowerment, and healing in everything we do. We believe that every woman and girl deserves the opportunity to reclaim her life, assert her rights, and rise beyond the impacts of systemic oppression.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and oversee fundraising strategies, campaigns, and events.
     
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
     
  • Contribute expertise to grant prospecting and fundraising initiatives.
     
  • Actively participate in quarterly board meetings and fundraising committees.
     
  • Support the Executive Director in building long-term sustainability plans.
     

What to Expect
You will collaborate with other board members and staff on fundraising campaigns, events, and donor engagement initiatives. Expect to contribute ideas, attend quarterly board meetings, and actively participate in planning and outreach.

Commitment
Approximately 5–8 hours per month, including one quarterly board meeting and additional time for fundraising activities and donor communications.
