Route Marshall Volunteers Needed - AIDS Walk New York 2026
GMHC will be back in Central Park for AIDS Walk New York on Sunday, May 17, 2026!
Since 1986, AIDS Walk New York has been the world’s largest and most visible HIV/AIDS fundraising event. Much of its success is due to the hundreds of volunteers who support the event every year. That’s where you come in!
Please see the role below where we could really use more volunteers. It is one of our most critical roles as it supports Walkers on the route – cheering them on and keeping them safe.
Route Marshalls – 7:00am to 2:00pm
- Zoom Orientation on Wednesday, May 13th – 6:00-7:00pm. Stationed at specific locations and intersections along the route, assisting with and facilitating the flow of pedestrian, park cyclist, and Walker traffic. Marshalls do not direct vehicular traffic. Marshalls are responsible for keeping Walkers within the delineators, cheering on and supporting the Walkers, as well as responding to and reporting any medical situations that may arise in conjunction with our First Aid/Medical Services. Requires standing for long periods of time. Suitable for volunteers 18+ years old.
