05/09 Joe Michaels Mile Plug Planting
Join the Stewardship Team as we restore sensitive saltwater marsh habitat in Joe Michaels Mile with a volunteer plug planting! Urban wetlands provide a variety of benefits including improved water quality and protection from storm surges. They also serve as critical habitat for native wildlife! Please note, volunteers should dress in clothes that can get dirty and close-toed shoes. We also encourage volunteers to bring their own water bottles. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. To sign up a group of 10 or more volunteers please reach out to stewardship@parks.nyc.gov.
