Organization Profile

NYC Service Resident Volunteer Corps

The NYC Service Resident Volunteer Corps is an internalized cohort of resident volunteers developed to support New York City government agencies with some of their greatest needs. The program was created in part to build City agencies’ capacity to expand their programming and address their most pressing issues through provisions of pre-recruited and trained resident volunteers. Partnerships among NYC Service and other City agencies are central to the program, as agencies can apply to host volunteers through the Resident Volunteer Corps for a determinate amount of time with aid from NYC Service. Additionally, the NYC Service Resident Volunteer Corps builds out a crucial space for resident voice to support actions within City government which may connect agencies more closely with the communities they serve.
