The mission of Start Lighthouse is to advance childhood literacy through a social justice lens, ensuring that every child becomes a proficient, lifelong reader by the 4th grade. By providing access to culturally relevant books, immersive literacy programming, and author workshops, we aim to foster a love for reading and empower students from underserved communities, particularly Black and Latinx children, to thrive academically and beyond.
